A total of 95 IOC members voted on the host city of the 2018 Olympic Winter Games during the 123rd IOC Session in Durban, South Africa today. Prior to the voting procedures, Munich, Annecy and PyeongChang had one last chance to present themselves and their concept for the Games to the IOC members.

The election process had started in June 2010 with the IOC accepting the three cities as Candidate Cities after an evaluation of their applications. The Candidate Cities had until 11 January 2011 to submit their Candidature File and guarantees to the IOC. After a detailed evaluation of the Candidature Files and visits by the IOC Evaluation Commission, a detailed report was prepared and presented to the IOC Members, on which basis the votes are cast.
