Inside the “New” Hochfilzen Stadium

Back in the 1990's, the Hochfilzen Biathlon Stadium looked nothing like what spectators will experience this weekend; it was a small stadium equal to what may be found at an IBU Cup today. Now, renewed modern stadium with large wax cabins, changing rooms, new tunnels and a huge media room is in place, preparing not just for a World Cup but the 2017 IBU World Championships.

IBU Cup 2 in Ridnaun; Man-made Snow

IBU Cup 2 in Ridnaun started this morning with women's official training. The beautiful Italian village, surrounded by the mountains, in contrast to last season is lacking snow this year. Despite that, the organizing committee did a good job and prepared well-covered and hard tracks.

Darya Domracheva: Healthy, Happy and…Training Video

In 2014 and 2015, Darya Domracheva of Belarus basically won everything: three Olympic Gold medals and the coveted big Crystal Globe for the World Cup Total Score last season. This summer, she contracted mononucleosis which eventually ended her 2015-16 season before it ever started.

Ondrej Moravec: Journey to the Podium Video

Ondrej Moravec of the Czech Republic won a handful of IBU YJWCH medals back in the early 2000's, then waited 10 years before he mined a Bronze medal in the mixed relay at the 2013 IBU World Championships in his home country. Since then the WCH medals and Olympic medals have continued to pile up.

IBU Junior Cup Biathlon 2 Reallocated to Martell, Italy

The IBU has reallocated IBU Junior Cup Biathlon 2, scheduled for December 17-19 from Arber, Germany to Martell, Italy. Arber was unable to host the event due to lack of snow. FISI and the Martell OC confirmed their availability to host the competitions and they will take place at Martell on the same dates.
