Win Number Two for Simon Schempp

Simon Schempp claimed the second win of his career today despite two penalties in the men's 12.5K pursuit. He finished in 31:20.6, 1.5 seconds ahead of France's Jean Guillaume Beatrix, with one penalty. Third went to Norway's Henrik L'Abee Lund.

Andrea Henkel Takes Antholz Pursuit

Clean-shooting Andrea Henkel of Germany won the women's 10K pursuit in 31:04.5, taking the lead after the final standing stage and holding off Belarusian Nadezhda Skardino who also shot clean, by 1.6 seconds. Third went to the fast finishing Tora Berger, with three penalties, 6.6 seconds back.

Lang Wins Ruhpolding Women’s Sprint

Germany's Kathrin Lang won the sprint competition in Ruhpolding, with clean shooting, in 21:27.9. Second went to Norway's Bente Landheim, who also shot clean, 13.9 seconds behind Lang. Russia's Ekaterina Iourieva was third, with one penalty, 24.5 seconds back.

Schempp and Hofer Tie in Antholz Sprint

Germany's Simon Schempp and Italy's Lukas Hofer tied for first place, with a time of 22:44.9 in the Antholz sprint today, marking the first career wins for both of them. Schempp shot clean while Hofer had a single standing penalty. Schempp's teammate Arnd Peiffer was third, also shooting clean, 4.6 seconds back.

Germany Wins IBU Cup Mixed Relay

The German mixed relay team of Kathrin Lang, Nadine Horchler, Benedikt Doll and Florian Graf won the competition in 1.20:05.6. with one penalty. Germany left the second placed Russia 1:13.6 behind. The Russian team of Ekaterina Iourieva, Valentina Nazarova, Alexander Chernyshov and Sergey Korastylev stayed penalty-free. Third went to France with Jacquemine Baud, Enora Latuilliere, Remi Borgeot and Antonin Guigonnat, also penalty-free, 1:59.2 back. Austria is penalty-free in fourth palce; and Switzerland with two penalties in fifth places, respectively. Sixth went Sweden, Penalty-free, 2:21.6 back.

IBU Cup Comes to Ruhpolding

Just days after the World Cup caravan left town, the IBU Cup competitors are taking over the Chiemgau Arena in Ruhpolding. The World Cup venue is hosting IBU Cup 6 after Altenberg Germany was unable to host it due to lack of snow.

First Win for Bescond in Antholz Sprint

France's Anais Bescond claimed the first podium and the first win of her career by taking the 7.5K sprint today in 20:32.2, with a single penalty. Second place went to Andrea Henkel of Germany, who shot clean but finished 6.7 seconds back. Belarusian Darya Domracheva finished third, with two penalties, 10.1 seconds back.
