Canmore Mass Start to Dominik Windisch

Italy's Dominik Windisch, with four penalties on a very windy morning, came from third position after the final standing stage to claim his first career World Cup win the mass start in 40:37.1. Second went to Germany's Benedikt Doll, also with four penalties, 4.1 seconds back, while France's Quentin Fillon Maillet was third, with three penalties, 8.6 seconds back.

Pidhrushna Flies to Sprint Victory

Olena Pidhrushna of Ukraine completed her return to competition after sitting out last season with a clean shooting victory in today's women's sprint. Her time of 19:56.9 put her 7.5 seconds ahead of Poland's Krystyna Guzik who also shot clean. Third went to Italy's Dorothea Wierer with one penalty, 12.4 seconds back.

Martin, Anton and Simon in Canmore Sprint

Martin Fourcade of France led the way in the men' sprint this morning with a clean-shooting 23:51.5 victory over Anton Shipulin of Russia and Simon Schempp of Germany, who also shot clean but finished 15.7 and 18.7 seconds back, respectively.

Canmore Course Tour with Rosanna Crawford

The 1988 Olympic Biathlon stadium at the Canmore Nordic Center is just about ready for the this week's BMW IBU World Cup Biathlon 7 that opens tomorrow with the men's 10K sprint at 11:15 local time (19:15 CET). The women's sprint follows on Friday at the same time.

Welcome to Canmore: BMW IBU World Cup 7

After long and tiring trips from Europe, about 230 athletes are here in Canmore training for the first of two BMW IBU World Cups in North America. Although many arrived last night, virtually no one passed up the chance to ski this morning at the Canmore Nordic Center, site of the 1988 Olympic Winter Games biathlon competitions.

Norway and Russia Take Final Gold Medals at YJWCH

The Norwegian team of Anne Marit Bredalen, Turi Storstroem Thoresen and Ingrid Landmark Tandrevold with five spare rounds won the Gold medal in the junior women's relay in 55:26.3. Later in the day, the final Gold medal of these Championships went to Russia with Dmitrii Shamaev, Viktor Plitcev, Nikita Porshnev and Kirill Streltsov winning the junior men's relay with only two spares in 1:23:56.7.

Russia and Norway Win Youth Relay Gold Medals

Last year's Silver medalist team from Russia: Iaroslava Pervakova, Valeria Vasnetcova and Polina Shevnina won the youth women's Gold medal with 8 spare rounds in 55:33.8. Later, the Norwegian team of Endre Stroemsheim, Aleksander Fjeld Andersen and Harald Oeygard confidently won the youth men's relay with eight spare rounds in 59:30.6.
