Martin Fourcade…Lucky with Life & Lunch at Chez Martin

Last night, multiple Olympic and World Champion Martin Fourcade won his sixth individual World Championship title. This past summer, relaxing at his home in the mountain village of Villard de Lans, France he reflected on his career, goals and life in this wide-ranging biographical interview video, "Martin Fourcade...Lucky with the Life I Have." He also showed off his cooking skills in a second video from this summer, “Lunch at Chez Martin.”

Summer Afternoon in Minsk with Dasha

One of the favorites in today’s women’s 15K individual is Darya Domracheva, whose home is in Minsk, Belarus. Although she does not spend as much time at home as she would like, Domracheva truly enjoys being in this city of 2 million people. On a clear September afternoon, the triple Olympic Champion drives around the city, does a little skating, and talks about her life in our video, “Summer Afternoon in Minsk with Dasha.”

Marie Dorin Habert: “Baby on Board” and “At Home” Video

Probably the biggest surprise of these 2015 IBU World Championships so far is the two victories of France’s Marie Dorin Habert. About a year ago, she announced that she was pregnant with her first child. Daughter Adele was born in late September. The new mother was back at the shooting range shortly after. She returned to competition at Oberhof and now is a double World Champion. Last June, Biathlonworld TV caught up with her at a training camp and a few days later at her home in Villard de Lans. Our video “Marie Dorin Habert: Baby on Board!” is about her training while pregnant. The second video “At Home…with Marie Dorin Habert” is a biographical piece where she talks about her early days in biathlon and her long-term goals. Dorin Habert’s road to Gold is definitely a unique story in our sport!

Valja Semerenko: Her Sister, Her Dreams and Biathlon

Valja Semerenko is currently third in the World Cup Total Score and won a Bronze medal in the World Championships Sprint on Saturday. Yet she considered not competing this season after a hard Olympic year where she won a Relay Gold medal. Condolences: Death of Russian Biathlete Alina Yakimkina

Russian biathlete Alina Yakimkina died unexpectedly of heart failure on February 21st during a Cup of Russia competition in Tyumen. Doctors were immediately on hand, but were unable to revive her. The 21-year-old was a member of the Udmurt Republic team.

Pizza Time with Doro, Nadezhda and Luki

The most universally known and loved Italian dish today is surely pizza. It comes in many variations, but the basics are the same; crust and toppings, baked in an oven. During this week in Antholz, what would more appropriate than getting a couple of the Italian Biathletes to show how pizza is made in the South Tyrol. Then add in a Belarusian with Italian heritage and see how much fun three athletes can have making a pizza from scratch at Dorothea Wierer's home in Rasun.

Sigi Heinrich: Biathlon and Bison Burgers

Eurosport Biathlon commentator Sigi Heinrich is well known for his love of sports but also his love of food. Near the end of last season, he figured out a way to combine these two passions, a biathlon cookbook! His compilation of recipes from a wide range of well-known biathletes “Kulinarisch Volle Treffer” was published last month. Sigi talks about his project in our video, “Sigi Heinrich: Biathlon and Bison Burgers.”

Double Olympic Gold Medalist Kuzmina Pregnant

Slovakia's Anastasiya Kuzmina, the Olympic Sprint Gold medalist in the past two Olympic Winter Games announced today in a press conference in home town of Banska Bystrica, Slovakia that she is three months pregnant and will miss the current biathlon season.
