"WADA was founded on the principles that athletes have a fundamental right to participate in doping-free sport and that doping endangers athlete health and the integrity of sport. In that regard, WADA serves as the independent international body responsible for coordinating and monitoring the global fight against doping in sport."
John Fahey, A.C. President of WADA
The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) was founded in 1999 and has since then been the international and independent leader in the fight against doping in sports. It is supported by almost 600 national and international organizations and governments.
WADA has not only created the WADA Code but also supplies its stakeholders with tools in the fight against doping, such as the ADAMS system and the List of Prohibited Substances. It also maintains an international research program dedicated to find new and more effective testing methods.
